Inventive: Invent Theatre aims to be Inventive, producing only new and devised work, giving young people an opportunity to have their own work performed and providing audiences with a new diversity, complimenting, rather then crowding the arts scene on the Isle of Wight In-Vent-nor: Invent Theatre is based In-Vent-nor, working with the community. We work closely with Ventnor Middle School, and are part of the Extended School's Program for the area, as well as having an Executive Committee with local community and arts representatives. www.inventtheatre.co.ukFor IW arts ideas or if you'd like to be involved in arts activities visit ventnorfringe@gmail.com
The Ventnor Fringe Festival is a project this August 11th- 14th to coincide with the 121st Carnival celebrations. It will be an open arts festival in which anyone can perform in disciplines as diverse as theatre, comedy, music, dance and film. In true Fringe style we are putting a big emphasis on non traditional performance spaces so we will be using locations as varied as parks to basements, beaches to churches! We have already had a great deal of interest and are really keen to keep the momentum going.
Writing groups on the Island may be interested in being involved . We are very keen to develop the Festival as a 'Great Artists' Pilgrimage' and not only as a centre of creative innovation but of education too. We would love to host as many workshops/talks/discussions as performances in areas such as an Outdoor Library which are creating for new writing, spoken word and comedy.
Ventnor Fringe Festival Team can be contacted at:
PO Box 75, VENTNOR, PO38 9BH.
